Are you driven by problem solving? Do you thrive working with complex and large equipment? Looking no further, MacGregor is looking to hire a Service Engineer with Mechatronics or Automation competence.
The purpose of this role is to execute service, repair and maintenance work, such as diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair of mechatronic systems and components on the MacGregor product range, plus 3rd party makers if needed. MacGregor is at the forefront of innovation and is ready to deliver all-electric Walk-to-Work Gangways and advanced 3D compensated cranes for the offshore wind industry. In addition, your focus will be on active heave-compensated (AHC) offshore cranes, with hydraulic or electric winch drives, for the offshore industry.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include diagnostics and troubleshooting within control systems with preference use of Siemens Step7, Siemens TIA portal and InTouch HMI, advanced hydraulic and electric repair and maintenance.
More tasks and responsibilities
- Supervise and perform service activities such as refurbishment, upgrades, inspections, preventative maintenance and corrective actions
- Stay up to date with relevant developments, routines, processes and news
- Provide information and write reports as required
- Follow all site safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements
- Comply with all relevant safety and quality requirements according to MacGregor
This role is part of our Global Services Division. Reporting directly to the Operation Superintendent, located in Bergen.
This is a position that requires that you travel to client sites, vessels or at shipyards worldwide. Our clients are spread across the globe, i.e. Europe, Brazil, the US, China, Australia, Singapore, and beyond. Therefore, flexibility and a willingness to travel are essential.
What you’ll need to succeed
We are looking for a person who has previous experience within offshore, ship or rig related equipment, and who is able to work with Siemens Step7, Siemens TIA portal and InTouch HMI. As a person you are cooperative, customer oriented and have technical skills.
Ideally you have
- Technical education at Bachelors or Technical College level within Mechatronics, automation or equivalent
- Relevant experience may compensate for lack of education
- Proficient in technical English and Norwegian - both spoken and written
