Technical Support Engineer, Cranes

MacGregor Equipment and Solutions Division is looking for a Technical Support Engineer who will support the stakeholders in various crane related topics. 

 

The primary purpose of this position is to act as the essential technical liaison between the Engineering CRA department and crucial downstream operational functions (Production, Commissioning, Service, and Warranty). This involves ensuring the accuracy and maintenance of FAT/SAT protocols, coordinating product care issues, and providing necessary training and engineering support to guarantee the safe, high-quality performance of products throughout their lifecycle. 

More tasks and responsibilities

  • Ensure FAT/SAT protocols are accurate and updated strictly according to customer contract requirements
  • Responsibility for the development and continuous maintenance strategy of the BOD-extend platform/tool
  • Act as the first point of contact towards production, commissioning, warranty and service in engineering matters related to our products
  • Coordinate cross-functional product care initiatives within the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic engineering disciplines
  • Manage big warranty claims of our products, systems, modules and components representing engineering in root cause identification and engineering solutions
  • Coordinate significant warranty claims related to our products, systems, modules, and components, representing the engineering perspective in root cause identification and the development of engineering solutions
  • Coordinate major warranty claims, providing the engineering viewpoint for root cause analysis and developing technical solutions
  • Coordinate and perform training of our personnel in production, commissioning and service when it comes to new products, features and software functions
  • Systematically summarize design-related issues encountered at our production partner


Reporting directly to the Technical Support Manager, Cranes. The position will be based in MacGregor’s office Ornskoldsvik, Sweden.

 

This position operates on a hybrid model, requiring an on-site presence of three days per week.

What you’ll need to succeed

The ideal candidate for the Technical Support Engineer, Cranes role is a highly motivated and skilled professional who brings a strong technical foundation, underpinned by relevant engineering principles and demonstrable product-specific experience.

The successful candidate must possess excellent cooperation and collaboration skills, demonstrating the ability to work effectively within diverse, cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, and field service personnel. 

 

Ideally you have

  • A technical degree from a university or equivalent qualification is required
  • At least 3 years of relevant business / product experience
  • Experience in an engineering environment, utilizing relevant engineering tools
  • Solid understanding of mechanics and hydraulics
  • Demonstrated high competence in electrical systems, including frequency converter drive systems
  • Strong cooperation and communication abilities are essential
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Fluent in both written and spoken Swedish
