Do you thrive on solving challenges and taking ownership of solutions? We are looking for a Purchaser to join our Global Service Division to ensure supply chain activities are carried out efficiently, accurately, and in line with company policy. 

Your main activities will be related to purchasing for the MacGregor spare-parts centers in Norway securing optimal supply of goods to our customer’s orders and warehouse stock, ensuring cost savings are made in procurement and related logistics. Furthermore, you will support sales in the quoting process, ensure timely supply to sales orders, and work with other team members to optimize stock levels and order-cycles.

More tasks and responsibilities

  • Support sales quotations and optimize in-costs
  • Manage the order lifecycle- from quote to order, to delivery
  • Administer inventory and product data
  • Communicate and negotiate with suppliers
  • Liaise on challenges with our Technical Support Department


Reporting directly to the Distribution Manager, Norway. The position will be based in MacGregor’s office in Arendal, Norway.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, it is essential that you possess business acumen, have an analytical mindset, have good interpersonal skills, and are comfortable communicating across an organisation. We are looking for an accurate, efficient, and self-motivated team player who is accountable to their internal customers.

Ideally you have:

  • A commercial degree from a Business School, or a Technical Bachelor’s degree (significant experience and proven aptitude in purchasing can compensate for this)
  • Completed courses from the NIMA Purchasing Institute will be advantageous
  • A proven track record from a similar position, with at least 2 years of experience in a purchasing preferably within the offshore and shipping industries
  • Solid computer skills- including being a skilled user of MS Excel and ERP systems (experience with SAP and Google Workspace is advantageous)
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new software and working methods
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English.
