Technical Advisor Documentation

MacGregor is a global company that operates in 30 countries with 2000 employees. We provide sustainable cargo and load handling with a strong portfolio of products, services, and solutions to the maritime and offshore industries. Our solutions are found in over half of the world's merchant fleet.

We believe MacGregor is a great place to work and we are looking for innovators with an international mindset to join our team and help us create lifetime value for our customers.

MacGregor – Let's shape the future together

As a Technical Advisor Documentation, you will serve as the primary technical anchor within the Aftermarket department’s Fishery and Research project team. Your central purpose is to oversee and safeguard the entire lifecycle of project documentation, ensuring a seamless transition from initial engineering concepts to finalized, shippable products.

You’ll take full ownership of the technical data flow, beginning with the creation and control of hydraulic diagrams and production specifications, and managing critical inputs such as BOM lists and ERP system data. By guiding the project through rigorous IAT and FAT testing phases, you ensure that every delivery is not only technically sound but also accompanied by the comprehensive installation and user manuals necessary for successful operation in the field.

More tasks and responsibilities

  • Prepare hydraulic diagrams, user manuals, and technical documentation for all products
  • Manage ERP/SAP data, including BOM lists, material/serial numbers, and functional locations to ensure procurement readiness
  • Provide direct support to production and assembly teams
  • Handle FAT/SAT protocols and maintain mechanical/hydraulic drawings in Alfresco, PDM/PLM, and SAP systems
  • Coordinate with purchasers for material lists and quality inspections of suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Work closely with stakeholders and team members to meet deadlines and implement strategic plans
  • Contribute to team strategy and process enhancements
  • Monitor progress, report delays to the line manager, and proactively suggest solutions or handle other assigned tasks

The position is based in Averøy or Bodø, Norway and reporting directly to Manager Projects, FAR.

What you’ll need to succeed

To thrive in this role, you should be a self-driven professional who approaches complex technical challenges with a structured mindset and a keen eye for detail. Effective collaboration is at the heart of our operations, so we are looking for a teammate with excellent communication skills who is fluent in both Norwegian and English (written and oral). Your ability to stay focused under pressure and your proactive attitude will be key to your success within our engineering team.

Ideally you have

  • University degree in a relevant engineering field. Significant proven results from a similar position may compensate for formal educational requirements
  • Experience in the engineering, production, or assembly of mechanical products
  • High-level proficiency in PDM and SAP systems
  • Hands-on experience with Triplex or Rapp legacy equipment
  • Fluent in both written and spoken Norwegian
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
