Are you driven by problem solving? Do you thrive working with complex and large equipment? Look no further, MacGregor is looking to hire a Service Engineer with Electrical and automation or Mechanical and Hydraulic competence.
The purpose of this role is to execute service, repair and maintenance work, such as diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair of equipment on the MacGregor product range, plus 3rd party makers if needed.
We are looking for a candidate with previous experience within the shipping sector working with products such as hatch covers, ramps, winches, cranes and steering gears (Mega Yacht focus), but not limited to. Your main discipline is electrical, mechanical, hydraulics and automation systems. As a person you are customer-oriented, cooperative, and have excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively share information within the team.
This is a position that requires that you travel to client sites, vessels or at shipyards worldwide. Our clients are spread across the globe therefore, flexibility and a strong willingness to travel is essential.
More tasks and responsibilities
• Diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Supervise and perform the refurbishment, upgrades, inspections, preventative maintenance and corrective actions.
• Repairing and maintaining electrical, control and mechanical equipment.
• On-site, support sales by following up on leads and quotes.
• Complete documentation of the work performed.
• Leading teams of up to 10 persons for refit projects worldwide.
What you’ll need to succeed
This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams in a multicultural setting.
Ideally you have
• Background as a mechatronics engineer, industrial electronics engineer, electrical technician, or similar
• Professional experience in a comparable role as a service technician, ideally in the maritime/ shipping industry.
• Experience with electronic and hydraulic systems
• Ability to write reports and documentation electronically
• Independent, goal-oriented, and reliable working style
• Readiness to engage in travel-based work.
• Experience in Mega Yacht business as an advantage
• Fluent English. Additional language skills are an advantage
