Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion for quality and marine engineering? MacGregor is looking for a dedicated Technical Engineer to drive quality management and testing from fabrication to delivery.
As a Technical Engineer, you will own the comprehensive review of quality and test documents, addressing and resolving quality issues with stakeholders to ensure optimal delivery to the customer.
In this dynamic role, you will be the linchpin between our engineering teams, partners, and suppliers. You will spend a significant amount of your time on-site, ensuring our partners meet MacGregor’s high-quality standards. More tasks and responsibilities
- Ensure partners and suppliers adhere strictly to MacGregor quality standards through frequent on-site presence
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) inspections
- Record and follow up on quality deviations, implementing robust corrective actions
- Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize production processes.
- Provide technical training to shipyard personnel and subcontractors producing MacGregor electrical equipment.
- Serve as the primary technical support for partners and suppliers
Reporting directly to Technical Management Manager.The position will be based in MacGregor’s office in Busan, South Korea.
What you’ll need to succeed
We are looking for a person who has a positive, solution-oriented attitude with a strong understanding of industry norms and best practices. The suitable person has an analytical mindset and wants to develop processes and ways of working.
Ideally you have
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is highly preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in welding, painting, mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical assembly
- Proven hands-on troubleshooting ability, particularly with technical drawings
- Strong foundational understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Willingness to travel frequently to partner and supplier sites
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
