The purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient and proactive processing of spares inquiries, offers, and orders. You'll achieve this by maintaining strong cooperation with the Global Product and Service Center (GPSC) and regional hubs to meet both internal and external customer requirements. This role also involves managing inventory, including ordering and controlling inventory levels.
More tasks and responsibilities
- Maintain frequent contact with customers to understand their needs and build trust and a sense of partnership
- Ensure customer inquiries contain sufficient information for the GPSC/regional hub to quote correctly
- Handle the entry of inquiries and orders into SAP
- Forward quotations to the customer immediately upon availability, reviewing price and accuracy in conjunction with the local Account Manager/Representative as needed
- Forward orders promptly to the GPSC/regional hub and ensure a timely confirmation is sent to customers
- Follow up on open questions regarding quotes and orders, transferring important information to Technical Support/Sales/GPSC to allow for the supply of correct parts
- If orders are lost, determine the reason for the loss, enter the appropriate rejection code into SAP, and close the order
- Inform customers of any potential issues and proposed solutions, as well as providing delivery details and proactively seeking consigning information
- Assist service teams in placing orders for spare parts for maintenance orders, as applicable
- Check the credit risk of customers and follow applicable procedures

Reporting directly to the Operations Superintendent located in the US. The position will be based in Dutch Harbor, Alaska.
What you’ll need to succeed
The ideal candidate for this role is a customer-focused and solution-oriented professional with an efficient, conscientious, and proactive mindset. They possess excellent communication skills, thrive in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, and demonstrate a strong understanding of contracts and terms and conditions.
Ideally you have
- A technical and/or commercial educational background
- 3+ years of experience in a relevant sales role
- Technical understanding supported by practical experience
- Proficiency in SAP and G Suite.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Ability to read technical drawings is an advantage
