Do you thrive in driving client success? Looking no further, MacGregor is looking to hire an Account Manager to join our team. 

 

The purpose of this role is to plan, develop, direct, execute and monitor sales activities within a specified market segment to achieve established sales targets. You will promote and sell spare parts, service and projects. Your primary focus will be to develop trusted partnerships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring their ongoing success and satisfaction.

 

You'll be instrumental in driving sales growth and optimizing performance. Your day-to-day will involve developing equipment and service sales budgets and plans for your assigned market segment, or specific customers. You'll also negotiate sales with both existing and new clients. Furthermore, you'll contribute to preparing accurate sales and service forecasts and budgets. You'll monitor sales revenues against forecasts to proactively identify and address potential issues, and adapt procedures and priorities to continuously enhance overall performance.

More tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Contribute to sales, retention, pricing, and distribution strategies for your area by providing market intelligence and understanding trends.
  • Proactively identify and pursue opportunities for sales growth across spare parts, maintenance, and service offerings.
  • Proactively develop and implement sales tactics and action plans with manager’s approval and working with the sales support teams.
  • Collaborate with the Account Partner to ensure smooth operational delivery, maintaining oversight without direct involvement in daily order handling.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (including Key Account Managers, CX, and Service) to ensure customer requirements are met and issues are escalated appropriately.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to strengthen relationships, understand future needs, and introduce relevant MacGregor solutions.
  • Frequent travel is a core part of this role and an integral part of the regular working pattern.
     
    Reporting directly to the Sales Director. The position will be based in MacGregor’s office in Fort Lauderdale, FL (Miami Metropolitan Area).

What you’ll need to succeed

 

The ideal candidate is a proactive sales professional and possess technical or business background. As a strategic thinker, you are adept at developing market-specific budgets and using market intelligence to drive growth and retention. Ultimately, you are a self-starter who can bridge the gap between technical requirements and commercial success to consistently meet and exceed sales targets. 
 
Ideally you have

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma in engineering, marine or business.
  • 3-5 years in the Marine, Shipping or Offshore industry is preferred, but we are open to candidates with a solid technical background
  • from other engineering sectors.
  • Experience in successful Sales.
  • Good basic IT skills.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English.
  • Ability to use different negotiation techniques.
  • Knowledge of an additional language, such as French, Portuguese, or Spanish, is highly advantageous.

Compensation Data

 

Salary ranges from $130,000 - $140,000 per year based on skills and experience. This position is classified as Exempt under the FLSA and is therefore not eligible for overtime.
