Senior Mechanical Designer

As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for revising existing designs, generating essential technical documentation, and developing innovative solutions for complex projects.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute throughout the project lifecycle, from the initial tender phase to providing technical support and even participating in testing and commissioning. You'll be empowered to take ownership of your designs, ensuring they meet cost, time, and quality targets while collaborating with a talented team.
This role is part of our Merchant Solutions Division. Reporting directly to the Team Manager Design Marine.
This position is based in Gdansk, Poland.
More tasks and responsibilities
- Design equipment and its kinematics, according to technical requirements as defined by contract, class rules and MCG standards
- Providing technical expertise and documentation to assist in the preparation and submission of tenders for new projects
- Creating and maintaining accurate and comprehensive technical documentation, including initial calculations, drawings, specifications, and manuals
- Ensuring that design projects are delivered within the allocated budget and according to the established timeline
- Performing a variety of project-related tasks, such as feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical analyses
- Proactively communicating project progress and any potential issues to relevant stakeholders

Ideally you have
- University degree (M.Sc. / B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering
- At least 5 years hands-on experience with mechanical engineering within the marine industry
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Inventor and Vault software will be considered a distinct advantage
- Analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within teams and inspire others
- Fluency in both verbal and written English
