The role focuses on accelerating the adoption of AI across operations, products, and internal workflows. It is a hands-on, builder-first position dedicated to developing practical AI solutions that drive measurable business impact.
The AI Engineer identifies high-impact opportunities to apply AI across MacGregor. Working closely with engineering, product and commercial teams, the role moves quickly from idea to working prototype and supports scaling solutions into production.
The role is responsible for translating AI concepts and prototypes into reliable, production-ready solutions and contributes to accelerating the adoption of AI capabilities across MacGregor. A strong curiosity and proactive approach to exploring new technologies and use cases are essential to succeed in this role.
More tasks and responsibilities
- Identify and develop AI use cases and solutions
- Translate conceptual AI use cases into production-ready applications and services
- Work with modern AI development tools to accelerate development and iteration
- Collaborate with developers and product teams to integrate AI solutions into existing systems and develop automation solutions for suitable tasks
- Ensure AI solutions are scalable, maintainable and aligned with MacGregor’s architecture and security requirements
- Document AI solutions, workflows and implementation approaches
- Stay up to date with developments in AI technologies, tools and best practices and actively apply your knowledge
Reporting directly to Director, Digital Development & Portfolio Management located in Sweden. The position will be based in MacGregor’s office in Gothenburg, Sweden.
What you’ll need to succeed
Curiosity, self-motivation and flexibility will be integral for a strong candidate. Communication with a diverse set of international stakeholders will be a significant part of the day to day responsibilities for the role.
Having a basic understanding of software development principles and system integration, in combination with analytical thinking and problem solving will be key for your success.
Ideally you have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or a related field
- 3–7 years of experience in software development, AI/ML, data engineering or similar fields
- Professional experience with Python
- Demonstrated experience with AI-assisted development tools and applications
- Solved real problems using AI models
- Ability to demonstrate practical examples of building solutions that automate workflows or improve efficiency
- Strong hands-on development mindset with focus on building and iterating quickly
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
