As Director Business Control for the Merchant Solution Division, one of the largest largest divisions, you step into a key role in MacGregor’s next phase of value creation. As a standalone company backed by private equity owner Triton, MacGregor and the Merchant Soluntion Division are well positioned to grow, with finance at the core of this transformation.
In your role you lead the global business control organization for the Merchant division, with 33 colleagues (6 direct reports) across business lines and key regions. You have overall responsibility for the division’s financial performance management, including analysis of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, as well as executive business reviews. Together with division leadership, you drive forecasting, financial planning and strategy development, and you provide the financial analyses needed to support major commercial decisions.
You play a central role in challenging performance, identifying risks and opportunities and driving value creation across the business. You support strategic decision making in areas such as sales, production and sourcing, ensure alignment between the division, Supply Chain and regional organizations. At the same time, you lead and develop the finance team, drive continuous improvement and automation of financial processes and contribute actively to strategic initiatives.
As Director Business Control you report directly to the Group CFO and are a member of the MacGregor Finance Management Team and the Merchant Division Leadership Team. The role is based in Gothenburg but will include regular international travel.
What you'll need to succeed
You are strongly customer focused and results driven, always working to link financial performance to business goals. You combine solid business acumen with a clear commercial and strategic outlook and move with ease between long term direction and day to day priorities. As an inclusive and empowering leader, you inspire, develop and challenge cross functional teams, and you communicate clearly and confidently with senior stakeholders. You use data to support decisions but remain pragmatic and hands on, build trust across cultures and functions and handle change and complexity with calm and resilience.
Ideally you have
- University degree (MSc) in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
- 10+ years’ experience in a senior controller/finance leadership role in an international B2B environment, preferably within after sales and/or logistics
- Proven leadership of cross functional, international teams and complex projects
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, with impact at senior levels
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with a data driven approach to decision making
- Solid expertise in finance and controlling, including cost accounting, IFRS and performance management
- Good knowledge of risk management, internal controls and compliance
- High affinity for data and analytics, including modern tools and techniques.
- Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively in virtual and international environments
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, in English
