Product Manager, Cargo Access Solutions

The Product Manager is the key interface from the Global Service Division (GSD) to the New Build divisions. This role owns the product roadmap for the entire product lifecycle, from concept to end-of-life, ensuring that products meet business objectives, customer needs, and regulatory requirements for the aftersales business.

 

The primary objective is to own and utilize the installed base to develop specialized offerings that address diverse customer needs throughout the equipment lifecycle. The Product Manager is directly accountable for driving service revenue growth and maximizing lifecycle profitability through strategic product management.

More tasks and responsibilities

 
  • Work with New Build product managers to define the overall product strategy, customer value and service design, product roadmap, and the comprehensive product book
  • Own and utilize the installed base data to develop service offerings tailored to different stages of the equipment lifecycle
  • Drive the continuous improvement of product-specific gross margin, profitability, and service revenue growth
  • Analyze product-specific performance and service capture rates to identify and execute on growth opportunities
  • Develop, implement, and own the pricing strategy
  • Ensure pricing structures are aligned with profitability targets and market competitiveness 
  • Develop and lead a formal process for obsolescence management. Assess the impact of expiring components, identify alternatives, and implement EoL plans with product management and parts engineering
  • Initiate and drive retrofit and service project opportunities to capture value from the aging installed base

 

Reporting directly to Director for Product Management located in Germany. The Cargo Access Solutions is headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, however the position can also be based in other MacGregor office locations. 

What you’ll need to succeed

To thrive in this role you need to see and understand customer value drivers and be target oriented when it comes to revenue and margin KPIs. Understanding of our products and their applications, as well as, business analysis skills, and product lifecycle management (PLM) tools will help you in this role. And so will understanding of spare parts and service operations.

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience from the relevant product line with a strong technical understanding
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to navigate complex organizational structures
  • Responsibility for conforming to the MacGregor Code of Conduct and QEHS policies
  • Professional fluency in English; proficiency in other operational languages is highly valued
