Project Manager, RoRo and Self-Unloading Equipment

MacGregor is a global company that operates in 30 countries with 2000 employees. We provide sustainable cargo and load handling with a strong portfolio of products, services, and solutions to the maritime and offshore industries. Our solutions are found in over half of the world's merchant fleet.

We believe MacGregor is a great place to work and we are looking for innovators with an international mindset to join our team and help us create lifetime value for our customers.

MacGregor – Let's shape the future together

We are looking for a proactive and organized Project Manager to help us bring our cross-functional projects to life, from the very first idea to the final delivery. You will be the heart of our project coordination, bringing together our internal teams (like engineering, sourcing, and logistics) and external partners to make sure everything runs smoothly. On top of keeping projects on track, you’ll also have a chance to support our growth by helping with tenders, enabling sales, and shaping our strategic initiatives. Success requires solid knowledge of the RoRo segment, as well as strong mechanical and hydraulic skills.

More tasks and responsibilities

  • Leading projects through all stages of their lifecycle to ensure they are delivered on time, within scope, and up to our quality standards
  • Keeping an eye on project budgets and cash flow while working with Finance and Legal to protect overall profitability
  • Managing project risks and scope changes proactively while solving bottlenecks and keeping documentation in our systems up to date
  • Supporting sales and tendering teams by helping with proposals and building solid business cases for specialized products
  • Preparing documentation for quotations and contract discussions, and subsequently managing full order execution from the signing of the order through to delivery and installation
  • Leading cross-functional teams, acting as the main contact for partners, and building strong relationships with our customers through visits and occasional travel

Reporting directly to the Manager, Project Operations. This position is based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

What you’ll need to succeed

To thrive in this role, you should be someone who naturally balances a practical, technical mindset with healthy business logic, meaning you understand what the customer needs, but also what keeps a project profitable. You are a natural communicator who can connect with different teams, guide external partners, and lead with empathy. Finally, your analytical mindset, hands-on attitude, and positive approach to change will be your biggest strengths here. As you will be managing many projects concurrently, being highly organized and able to handle a heavy workload is essential.

Ideally you have

  • Professional experience in mechanical and hydraulic design within the RoRo segment
  • A university degree in engineering, finance, or a similar field, though equivalent practical experience is just as valuable to us
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience within merchant, energy, or industrial services
  • A proven track record of managing teams and delivering results in complex projects with solid P&L responsibility
  • Good business acumen and a solid understanding of merchant service operations, aftermarket services, or engineering solutions
  • Strong communication skills in English, an analytical mindset, and a positive, flexible attitude toward daily problem-solving and organizational changes
