Do you excel at defining documentation strategy and empowering a team to deliver world-class technical content? Looking no further, MacGregor is looking to hire a Senior Manager, Technical Documentation to join the company.
The purpose of this role is to lead and oversee the entire technical documentation function within the Global Services Division (GSD), supporting both project-specific and strategic development initiatives. This position will be responsible for managing documentation for equipment delivered by the New Build division, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with customer expectations and industry standards. The role also serves as the primary point of contact for third-party suppliers involved in technical documentation.
The main responsibilities for this position are leading the overall technical documentation strategy and execution across multiple functions. You will also directly manage The Project Technical Documentation function responsible for delivering customer documentation for new equipment projects as well as The Development Technical Documentation function responsible for innovations, digital transformation, and compliance with evolving standards.
More tasks and responsibilities
- Align and coordinate with third-party suppliers, ensuring quality, timely delivery and budget
- Drive standardization and quality improvement initiatives across documentation processes
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product Development, Project Management, and Customer
- Support teams to ensure documentation accuracy and usability
- Support recruitment, performance management, and development of the documentation team
- Report to executive leadership on progress, KPIs, risks, and improvement areas
Reporting directly to the Director, Strategy and Lifecycle Management Global Service Division. The position can be based in MacGregor’s office in Sweden, or in one of our offices in Europe.
What you’ll need to succeed
The ideal candidate for this role has strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills as well as proven ability to manage complex projects and third-party vendors. You also have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ideally you have
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Industrial Management, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum 10 years in technical documentation or related roles, with 5+ years in leadership or strategic roles
- Experience with digital documentation tools like CMS, interactive manuals
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and compliance such as S1000D, ISO

- Fluent in both written and spoken English
