MacGregor is looking for a Training Manager who will lead and develop the operational delivery of training for MacGregor’s Merchant product portfolio within our Global Services Division (GSD).
In this role, you will ensure world-class training for our service engineers and customers, enabling safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery worldwide. You will manage a team of technical trainers across multiple countries and sites and coordinate all training activities — from onboarding and ongoing competence development to customer courses — ensuring operational excellence and alignment with MacGregor’s strategic direction.
You will also play a key role in implementing strategic learning initiatives, leading and executing learning projects, and realising MacGregor Academy’s strategies in daily training operations. By staying close to our service organisation, you will proactively identify competence needs and drive continuous improvements that strengthen both our people and our business performance.
More tasks and responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day training operations for Merchant equipment, including planning, coordination, logistics (trainers, facilities, materials), and administration through the Learning Management System (LEARN)
- Implement strategic learning initiatives and lead key learning and development projects in alignment with the MacGregor Academy strategy
- Collaborate closely with Service Operations, Product Lines, and regional teams to align training content with current competence needs
- Track and report essential training KPIs (e.g., delivered training, attendance, completion, and satisfaction)
- Drive continuous improvement through systematic feedback collection, analysis, and process optimization
- Coordinate internal trainer upskilling and essential knowledge-sharing activities
- Represent the Academy and support the promotion of MacGregor’s training capabilities through marketing materials, course catalogues, and participation in internal and external events
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, MacGregor Academy located in Sweden. The position will be based in MacGregor’s office in Gothenburg, Sweden or Gdansk, Poland.
What you’ll need to succeed
The ideal candidate has a strong operational mindset and a strategic view on learning. You thrive in connecting business needs with learning outcomes, enjoy leading teams, and take pride in delivering training operations that are efficient, modern, and impactful.
Ideally you have
- University degree (BSc/MSc) in engineering, organizational development, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in technical training management or competence development
- In-depth knowledge and experience within Learning & Development models, practices, and frameworks
- Experience within service operations, field engineering, or marine equipment manufacturing is a great advantage
- Experience with Learning Management Systems and modern training delivery tools (e-learning, simulators, VR/AR)
- Proven leadership experience, preferably in an international and multi-site environment, with a natural ability to inspire and foster a positive, productive team culture
- Excellent coordination, interpersonal, and strong communication skills to build trust and ensure clear alignment across diverse teams and stakeholders
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Willingness to travel internationally when required
