Do you have a strong technical background in and a passion for delivering exceptional pre-sales technical support to customers? Looking no further, MacGregor is looking to hire a Manager, Sales to join the company.
The purpose of this role is to serve as a key driver of commercial success by strategically growing the sales turnover within their designated customer base, covering the entire McGregor product portfolio. This role is responsible for ensuring superior customer satisfaction by consistently meeting expectations and requirements, while proactively identifying and capitalizing on cross-selling opportunities to maximize revenue and market penetration.
Your responsibilities are to drive commercial growth and maximize customer satisfaction by fully managing the sales cycle, from strategic market intelligence and offer negotiation to final contract closure and cross-functional coordination.
More tasks and responsibilities
- Manage and develop their dedicated customer accounts to maximize sales turnover for the full product portfolio.
- Lead the comprehensive offer preparation process, coordinating input from naval architects, tendering, and other relevant internal personnel.
- Negotiate and finalize all agreements and contracts with customers, adhering strictly to established approval procedures.
- Proactively maintain and strengthen customer relationships through regular communication and site visits to ensure sustained loyalty.
- Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, and evolving customer needs to inform internal strategy and new technology development.
- Ensure all sales activities, customer updates, and leads are accurately captured in the CRM system and smoothly handed over to order fulfillment.
- Actively drive cross-selling initiatives, promote Group Solutions Division (GSD) elements, and forward new leads to relevant sales divisions.
Reporting directly to the Director, Sales & Marketing. The position will be based in MacGregor’s office in Hamburg, Germany.
What you’ll need to succeed
The ideal candidate for this role possesses strong core business competencies, specifically showcasing proactive customer orientation, the ability to independently manage projects and make sound decisions, sharp assessment skills, and cultural adaptability, all supported by relevant business or product experience.
Ideally you have
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in business administration or a technology degree - it can be replaced with technical understanding
- About 5 years of relevant business/product experience
- Technical knowledge related to MacGregor products e.g. mechanical, hydraulics, electrics, electronics
- A background in technical sales, project management and/ or engineering
- Driving license
- Wilingness to travel
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
