The purpose of this role is to enhance customer satisfaction by creating and implementing value-added solutions and systems for shipowners, operators, shipyards, and design offices.
As a Naval Architect, your day-to-day responsibilities will include producing equipment specifications, needed drawings, technical analysis, payback calculations and cost estimates. In addition, you will participate in solutions development and cross-selling activities, and actively participate in customer visits.
More tasks and responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the knowledge of cargo flow solutions and products
- Close collaboration with shipowners, shipyards and design offices and internal stakeholders such as area sales teams, engineering, sourcing, research and development
- Communicate relevant information and feedback from customers, classification societies and other authorities to R&D, Engineering and Sourcing functions
This role is part of our Equipment and Solutions Division. Reporting directly to the Director Sales, Marketing and Customer Innovations, Cargo Stowage Solutions. This position is based in Kaarina, Finland.
What you’ll need to succeed
Knowledge of mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, cargo flow products, technologies, offering of competitors and understanding of shipbuilding industry dynamics are essential for this position. We are looking for a person who is familiar with engineering software and tools, and who has knowledge of classification society rules, and quality systems such as ISO, OHSA. As a person, you are self-going, persistent, goal-oriented and with deep interest in the market environment and global trends. You have the ability to make decisions on technology issues independently and take care of multiple projects simultaneously.
Ideally you have
- B.Sc or M.Sc in Naval architecture,Mechanical engineering or related
- 3-5 years of experience with design, tendering and customer interactions
- Technical knowledge related to Cargo Stowage products is an asset
- Fluent in English language - both verbal and written
