As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for performing and supervising service activities such as repairs, preventive maintenance and corrective actions on MacGregor and equivalent equipment.
In this role you will be reporting to the Service Manager/Coordinator and your key accountabilities will include inspecting, troubleshooting, reporting, planning and conducting service or repairs as necessary, either alone or by leading subcontractors and to ensure adequate records and documentation are maintained in line with agreed standards.
You will ensure the work is carried out efficiently, accurately, in a friendly manner and supporting management and the rest of the organization in necessary areas.
More tasks and responsibilities

Professionally supervise and/or perform service activities (overhauls, inspections) preventative maintenance and corrective actions on MacGregor and equivalent equipment

Provide information and write reports as required

Establish and maintain good relationships with both internal and external customers

Enable feedback from customers and the service market in general to reach the appropriate MacGregor organization

Stay up to date with relevant developments, routines, processes and news within MacGregor major customers active in business area

Co-operation with the other Macgregor service stations and installation division

Follow all site safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements

Recognize service and spares sales opportunities and communicate that to the relevant persons

Coach/tutor junior colleagues and trainees as necessary

Make decisions about commercial matters within prescribed limits for each project, previously agreed with the Service Manager
This role is part of our Global Services Division. Reporting directly to the Operations Coordinator or Operations Superintendent.
The position is based in Kaarina, Finland, but your work requires frequent short term traveling mainly in different ports at Finland and sometimes with the client’s vessels to Sweden, Germany or Baltic’s. From time to time, you may also support emergency services during evenings, weekends, or public holidays, ensuring that no two days are ever the same.
What you’ll need to succeed
We are looking for a person with a mechanical or/and hydraulic background and field service experience. The ideal candidate for this role has experience in maritime, military or heavy engineering. Being a person who is cooperative, customer oriented and has technical skills is essential.
To succeed in this role, you should have:

Some years’ experience on ships & their marine equipment’s, either by having experience as a marine engineer or having an experience from a (marine) repair company.

In addition to good mechanical engineering skills, understanding of gas cutting & welding works, you should have practical understanding on hydraulics.

Basic understanding in electrics will be strongly beneficial as well.

Technical education or college level or similar relevant experience

Driving license being a mandatory requirement for the work.

Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate both in Finnish & English (Swedish skills beneficial) are essential as in this position you will also be responsible for maintaining productive team and customer relationships.

You also need to be able to express yourself clearly in writing, being a requirement for reporting.
