Technical Manager, Engineering Systems

Are you ready to lead the Engineering System development and maintenance work in our Cargo Stowage Solutions (CSS) business line?  In this role you will act as an expert in Engineering Systems. Your responsibilities will include the overall Engineering System development together with MacGregor IM and vendors, follow up system, engineering tools and design automation development, assist and train cad users.


As a Technical Manager, Engineering Systems your key accountabilities are ensuring that the engineering system works properly, development proceeds according to the plans and that system development plans are in line with company strategy. You will also enable and verify continuous development of existing engineering systems.

More tasks and responsibilities

  • Manage our engineering environment together with the selected partners and MacGregor Information Management (IM)
  • Oversee the testing, implementation, and training for the engineering systems
  • Develop engineering tools and design automation with configurator together with internal and external stakeholders
  • Plan for software updates, and proactively manage transitions between software versions

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, R&D / Engineering Environment.The position will be based in MacGregor’s office in Kaarina, Finland.

What you’ll need to succeed

You have excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a changing business environment.You possess organizational and communication skills, demonstrate adaptability, and excel at working both independently and as a collaborative team member.


Ideally you have

  • A technical degree from a university in an Engineering discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in a relevant role 
  • Experience working with SolidWorks design tool, SolidWorks PDM, design automation, PLM, Autocad 2D and IT environment infrastructures
  • Solution oriented mindset to identify the challenges and focus on the solutions
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and Finish.
