Technical Trainer

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Trainer to develop and deliver high quality training programs for internal and external customers globally! 

 

You will be responsible for Shipboard Cranes or Hatch Covers or Steering Gears equipment training. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the relevant product and ability to think in an integrated manner, combining technical expertise with a holistic understanding of the product and their application. 

 

This role is part of our Global Services Division. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Training. 

 

 The position can be based in any of the major  MacGregor Global Services Division locations in Europe such as Øvik, Hamburg, Kaarina or Gdansk. 

More tasks and responsibilities

  • Develop and implement training programs for internal service personnel and external customers.
  • Create training materials, including presentations, manuals, and online resources.
  • Plan and conduct training sessions through various methods in remote or in-person environments.
  • Collaborate with digital training experts to design and develop engaging training materials (presentations, handouts, simulations, etc.).
  • Execute regular qualification assessments of service personnel in compliance with internal processes and relevant regulations, and maintain the certification and data in the system properly and correctly.
  • Evaluate and continuously improve training programs, contents, materials and methods to be more effective.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in   responsible products, on industry trends, technologies, and best practices and possibly incorporate them into training programs.
  • Train local frontline trainers, as needed and keep their accreditation.

What you’ll need to succeed

Ideally you have

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field (mechanical / electrical)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in shipbuilding or marine industry / products
  • Experience in field service jobs is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of the responsible MacGregor product line
  • Practical understanding on mechanics/hydraulics
  • Knowledge of classification societies requirements, service process and documentation standards
  • Ability in planning, facilitating, and completion of training sessions
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
  • Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment as well as result-driven team player
  • Proficiency in using training software and tools is a plus
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken
