Service Engineer

Are you driven by problem solving? Do you thrive working with complex and large equipment? Look no further, MacGregor is looking to hire a Service Engineer with Mechanical and Hydraulic competence.

 

This is an opportunity for a hands-on expert, who will be responsible for performing repairs on critical marine equipment, including MacGregor and third-party products. Your focus on quality and safety will be essential to keeping our customers' vessels moving and hitting our service goals. 

 

We are looking for a candidate with previous experience within the shipping sector working with products such as Hatch covers, Roro equipment (ramps, doors, car decks, visors, cargo elevators, etc.) and Cargo Cranes among other MacGregor or third party manufactured equipment.


The position is part of our Global Services Division, located in Klaipėda, Lithuania. You will report to the Operations Superintendent.


You will work at local shipyards and ports. Your work may sometimes require travel, mainly to various ports in the Baltic Sea, or with client vessels to different European countries. Services may also be performed at night, on weekends, and during public holidays.

More tasks and responsibilities

  • Diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical and hydraulics systems
  • Supervise and perform the refurbishment, upgrades, inspections, preventative maintenance and corrective actions
  • Repairing and maintaining MacGregor’s equipment
  • Identify service and spares sales opportunities and communicate them to the line  manager to support all activities
  • Complete documentation of the work performed
  • Preparing detailed service reports and documentation for all work performed
  • Coach/tutor junior colleagues as necessary

What you’ll need to succeed

As a person you are customer-oriented, cooperative, and have excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively share information within the team. The role requires excellent problem-solving skills, which are essential for maintaining effective working relationships with customers and colleagues.

 

Ideally you have

 

  • Background as a mechatronics engineer, industrial electronics engineer or similar - proven professional experience can serve as a substitute for formal education
  • Professional experience in a related role, ideally in the maritime or shipping industry
  • Experience with mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • Skilled in writing reports and technical documentation using digital tools
  • Openness to business travel and irregular working hours
  • Driving license cat. Brepo
  • Fluent in both Lithuanian & English language (Russian language is an advantage)
