The Manager, Distribution Center is responsible for managing and developing the organisation within the assigned area of responsibility according to targets set by the Spare Parts Center management especially for the commercial aspects. 

This role is responsible for all customer deliveries from the warehouses in Norway. Your day-to-day responsibility will include order-to-invoice operations, effective inventory and logistics management, optimize supply network and procurement, and reduce the risk of obsolete stock. The distribution center may operate as an internal supplier for other areas and a local sourcing hub when it is cost-effective. The role has direct reports of 10-15 employees.
 

More tasks and responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions
• Develop and maintain best practice of the function/team processes including to ensure the correct usage of our tools and systems
• Ensuring good cooperation between all internal and external stakeholders
• Develop and follow strategies, visions and targets for the function/team that is aligned with Parts Business Line
• Manage and maintain warehouse equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety
• Working closely with local vendors to enable best possible terms and efficient flow of goods
• Ensuring a professional customer-oriented function both externally and internally for all business segments

Reporting directly to the Director, Spare Parts Center (OFS). The position will be based in MacGregor’s in Kristiansand, Norway.
 

What you’ll need to succeed

We are looking for a driven and analytical leader who has previous experience from a distribution center environment, ideally within the maritime industry. You possess a hands-on approach and enjoy engaging in daily operations as needed. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, effectively motivating the team to meet agreed deadlines and reach targets. You are not afraid to think outside the box, propose new ideas, develop processes and ways of working. 

Ideally you have

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field
• Proven experience in a leadership role in a distribution center environment, preferably in the maritime industry
• 7+ years of experience in a relevant role 
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in international business environment and in a matrix organisation
• Fluent in both written and spoken Norwegian and English
