Are you ready to deal with support and design for modernization, maintenance and upgrades of Marine and Offshore cranes?
MacGregor is looking for a dedicated and experienced Technical Support Engineer to join our Services team. In this critical role, you will provide essential internal and external technical support, documentation expertise, and operational assistance for complex systems on a global scale.
You will be part of a global company, making a real impact on the operational performance and safety of offshore systems worldwide. We offer an opportunity to work with cutting-edge automation technology and complex engineering challenges, collaborating closely with other departments. The main working focus will be for maintenance parts and service projects.
More tasks and responsibilities
- Support service projects with engineering, solution finding for customers, parts, and documentation
- Guiding for recommended spare parts and associated technical documentation
- Technical support for maintenance spare parts quotations
- Take part in modifications, including updating drawings and documentation
- Conduct necessary guiding related to offshore work and assist in service jobs if needed
- Update ERP, drawing, document systems according to our standards
- Provide remote troubleshooting and technical support to global customers and Service personnel
Reporting directly to the Manager Technical Support Cranes, Marine located in Norway. The position will be based in MacGregor’s office in Kristiansand, Norway.
What you’ll need to succeed
We are seeking a candidate who demonstrates exceptional self-management, possessing the ability to work independently and efficiently complete assignments without constant supervision. This role is highly collaborative, requiring excellent social and communication skills for effective engagement with both customers and internal stakeholders globally.
Ideally you have
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant technical field or Technical college (Teknisk fagskole) combined with relevant professional experience
- Experience with advanced hydraulics design and components
- Knowledge of electrical design and hardware is an advantage
- Knowledge of design tools (AutoCad, Inventor or similar)
- Solution oriented mindset to identify the challenges and focus on the solutions
- Ability to influence and negotiate with key internal and external stakeholders
- Fluent in both written and spoken English & Norwegian
