We are looking for a Warranty Support Engineer to be a key player in our team, responsible for general administrative and technical support for our products in the warranty phase. If you have a strong technical background and thrive on providing excellent customer service, we invite you to join us.
Reporting directly to the Manager, Warranty. The position will be based in MacGregor’s office in Kristiansand, Norway.
More tasks and responsibilities
- Attend and carry out rework, inspection, and warranty activities globally.
- Handle warranty cases, providing technical support and troubleshooting (online/onsite).
- Carry out testing of company-supplied equipment and products during the warranty phase.
- Coordinate job tasks with customers, including following up on technical matters and equipment spares.
- Provide support and guidance to other service engineers in the field.
- Maintain accurate records by uploading documentation and registering case closures in relevant systems (e.g., Alfresco, IncoApp, Salesforce).
- Participate in the 24/7 OnWatch rotation.
What you’ll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you will need a strong service-oriented and customer-focused mindset and the technical expertise to effectively diagnose and resolve complex issues. Success is driven by the ability to manage warranty activities efficiently, communicate clearly with customers and colleagues, and adapt to frequent global travel for onsite support.
Ideally you have:
- A Diploma, Degree, or Professional Certificate in a relevant technical field.
- At least 5 years experience in maintenance and services on offshore equipment
- Electrical and Software background preferred with diverse knowledge in PLC, Hydraulic and Mechanical disciplines are highly regarded
- Preferred knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems and the capability to perform simple service tasks.
- Willingness and ability to undertake frequent overseas travel- both planned and on short notice.
- Excellent English language skills, strong communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- A highly customer service-oriented attitude and proven ability to work as a team player.
