We're looking for a Production Control Supervisor with mechanical and hydraulic experience in the Marine industry. As the Production Control Supervisor you will become a key partner in our success! 


The Production Control Supervisor will supervise and control the quality of mechanical and hydraulic systems during fabrication (machining, assembly, piping, flushing etc.) in manufacturing facilities. Ensuring suppliers adhere to MacGregor quality standards, requiring significant presence in the workshop to monitor mechanical assembly and hydraulic piping installation.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Follow up and support the assembly of mechanical components and hydraulic circuits, ensuring rigorous testing and acceptance of equipment (Pressure tests / Flushing / FAT) according to requirements set in the ITP.
  • Monitor and assess risks related to Quality, Cost, and Schedule. Provide technical feedback and support in mitigating risks to ensure trouble-free installation and commissioning.
  • Monitor supplier workmanship, record quality non-conformities and promote continuous quality improvement.
  • Inspect mechanical parts, hydraulic assemblies and oil cleanliness, witness pressure and functional tests with surveyors and customers.
  • Guide on-site technicians, provide technical troubleshooting support and deliver professional technical training to partners.

 

Reporting directly to Regional Manager Asia, Test, Installation & Commissioning. The position will be based in Dalian, China.

What you’ll need to succeed

To excel in this position, you should have a deep understanding of hydraulic systems and a knowledge of mechanical tolerances, fitments, and alignment techniques for large-scale maritime equipment. As a person you are cooperative, customer oriented and have technical skills.


Ideally you have

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field (or equivalent extensive hands-on experience in maritime hydraulics).
  • Minimum 5 years'experience in supervising mechanical assembly and hydraulic installations, preferably within the marine, offshore, or heavy machinery industries.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and Manufacturing Record Books (MRB).
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems and utilizing inspection software (e.g., Flexite or similar ERP/Quality tools).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a "hands-on" approach to troubleshooting mechanical or hydraulic issues on the shop floor.
  • Effective communication skills to act as the technical bridge between engineering, the supplier, and the customer.  Competency in reading, writing and speaking English is required.
