Are you driven by problem solving? Do you thrive working with complex and large equipment? Look no further, MacGregor is looking to hire a Service Engineer with hydraulic, electrical, electronical and mechanical competence.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on expert, who will be responsible for performing repairs on critical marine equipment, including MacGregor and third-party products. Your focus on quality and safety will be essential to keeping our customers' vessels moving and hitting our service goals.
We are looking for a candidate with previous experience within the shipping sector working with products such as cranes, but not limited to.
The position is part of our Global Services Division, located in Piraeus, Greece. You will report to the Service Coordinator.
This position requires travel to client sites, vessels, or shipyards worldwide. As our clients are spread across the globe, flexibility and the ability to work overtime and on weekends are part of the job.
More tasks and responsibilities
- Diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulics and electrical systems
- Advanced maintenance on electrical, control and mechanical equipment
- Provide information and write reports as required
- Supervise and perform service activities such as refurbishment, upgrades, inspections, preventative maintenance and corrective actions
- Monitor performance of the team (if any) and provide support in order to complete tasks successfully
- Stay up to date with relevant developments, routines, processes and news
- Follow all site safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements
- Comply with all relevant safety and quality requirements according to MacGregor
What you’ll need to succeed
As a person you are customer-oriented, cooperative, and have excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively share information within the team. The role requires excellent problem-solving skills, which are essential for maintaining effective working relationships with customers and colleagues.
Ideally you have
- Education within the electrical, control and automation field. Relevant experience may compensate for lack of education.
- At least 10 years’ experience in equivalent position
- Previous experience in the maritime/shipping industry and with shipboard equipment (cranes) is essential.
- Ability to write reports and documentation electronically
- Personal credit card and passport under validity
- Valid driver's license
- Fluent in English and Greek, additional language skills are an advantage
- Salesforce knowledge is a plus
