Service Engineer

Do you thrive in engineering and supporting customers? Looking no further, MacGregor is looking to hire a Service Engineer to join our team.
In this role you will perform and supervise service activities such as refurbishment, upgrades, preventive maintenance and corrective actions as well as inspection.


You will stay up to date with technical developments applicable to equipment as well as technical specifications of MacGregor range, internal service bulletins and others. You need to understand various requirements and expectations, including costs and budgets, co-ordinate sub-contracted assignments and report any non-compliance and make decisions about required action up to agreed authority levels and then communicate with Service Manager.

More tasks and responsibilities

  • Review and edit personal daily activity reports
  • Guide subcontracted teams (if any) and prepare daily activity reports
  • Keep regular work meetings with subcontracted teams (if any) and superiors 
  • Monitor performance of the team (if any) and provide support in order to complete tasks successfully
  • Carry responsibility to ensure that all site safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements are complied with, both according to customer's in-house regulations and to general standards
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment as necessary
  • Submit high-standard regular reports as specified by Service Coordinator 
  • Responsibility for conforming to the Cargotec Code of Conduct and  QEHS Policies of MacGregor


Reporting directly to the Service Coordinator. The position will be based in MacGregor’s office in Piraeus, Greece.

What you’ll need to succeed

You will be a great fit for the role if you can manage a big repair work in which at least 5 foreign workers are involved. You can also organise transports, tools, material, spare parts as well as food and accommodation for a team of people. You have good knowledge of hydraulic systems (high & low pressure), electrical systems; basic knowledge of  electronic equipment. Good knowledge of mechanical and structural drawing and Google suite (Gmail, sheet, pages, etc) is also an advantage.


Ideally you have

 

  • Qualifications from college or University in technical engineering is a plus
  • At least 10 years’ experience in equivalent position
  • Driving license is mandatory
  • Personal credit card and passport under validity
  • Salesforce knowledge is a plus
  • Fluent in both written and spoken Greek
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment 
  • Good communication skills
