Are you driven by problem solving? Do you thrive working with complex and large equipment? Look no further, MacGregor is looking to hire a Service Technician with Mechanical and hydraulic competence.
The purpose of this role is to execute service, repair and maintenance work, such as diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair of advanced hydraulic and mechanical equipment on the MacGregor product range, plus 3rd party makers if needed.
We are looking for a candidate with previous experience within the offshore, ship, or rig equipment sector working with products such as winches, cranes and steering gears, but not limited to. Your main discipline is mechanical and hydraulic. As a person you are customer-oriented, cooperative, and have good communication skills, with the ability to effectively share information within the team.
This is a position that requires that you travel to client sites, vessels or at shipyards worldwide. Our clients are primarily domestic but also spread across the globe, i.e. Europe, the US, China, Australia, Singapore, and beyond. Therefore, flexibility and a strong willingness to travel is essential. Our office and workshop is located in the Rio de Janeiro area where you might be assigned to local work if needed, therefore it is essential that you live within reach.
This role is part of our Global Services Division. Reporting directly to the Operations Superintendent.
More tasks and responsibilities
- Carrying out planned and corrective maintenance/repairs, including onboard inspections
- Driven to continuously improve and remain informed on relevant developments, routines, processes and news
- Provide information and write reports in English language as required
- Follow all site safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements
What you’ll need to succeed
- Technical education at Technical College level within Mechanical or Hydraulic
- Minimum 1 year of experience from similar position
- Previous experience with winches, cranes, steering gear is very much appreciated
- Ability to work with a flexible daily schedule and be available for short-notice travel assignments
- Proven experience working with computer systems professionally
- Proficient in English language - both verbal and written
