The Senior Mechanical Designer will act as a designer for dedicated projects. As the Senior Mechanical Designer you will become a key partner in our success!
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Design work and quality based on design guidelines and manager’s and team leader’s guidance
- Design schedules (general responsibility of commonly agreed schedule and regular reporting to team leader and other relevant persons)
- Cooperation with staff in hydraulic and electric design as well as strength analysts
- Checking of drawings for both the team colleague and design partner
- Responsibility to deliver latest drawings to all relevant team members as needed (CM, QC, PR, etc.)
- Produce not only Hatch Cover, but also container Lashing Construction(including FixedFitting/offset plans, cell guide, deck stanchion and lashing bridge)
Reporting directly to the Team Leader, CSS (Cargo Stowage Securing) Design. The position will be based in MacGregor's office in Shanghai, China.
What you’ll need to succeed
We are looking for a person from Marine industry, and with experience in hatch cover and/or container securing systems. As a person you are cooperative, customer oriented and have technical skills.
Ideally you have
- B. Sc. or M. Sc. of Engineering
- Work on Marine or ship building for more than 5 years
- Knowledge of steel structure design
- Knowledge of basic strength calculation (details)
- Knowledge on 3D design tools
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
