Are you a strategic thinker who loves turning supplier relationships into successful business partnerships? We are looking for an experienced Sourcing Manager to take full ownership of a key component category and lead our end-to-end sourcing activities, from budget planning to contract execution. In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering, sales, and global teams to optimize costs and drive quality improvements across our supply chain.
Reporting directly to the Director, Sourcing. The position will be based in MacGregor’s office in Shanghai, China.
More tasks and responsibilities
- Developing and implementing annual budgets, action plans, and cost-saving strategies to hit targets, while driving cost-down initiatives and cost competitive actions alongside Sales, Engineering, and R&D
- Conducting supplier selection, evaluations, and business reviews, as well as negotiating and securing yearly divisional contracts and purchase/fabrication agreements
- Partnering with Category Management and Division Supply Chain management to drive spend consolidation, resource leveraging, and continuous improvements in quality, lead time, and costs
- Resolving complex delivery, quality, or service issues escalated from Division Purchase, while managing financial and operational risks within your scope
- Developing strong partnership relationships with suppliers, Division Stakeholders, and Category Management, while promoting and implementing innovative solutions like Supplier Chain Financing
- Providing accurate budget and estimate inputs to Division Sales and maintaining the Sales Budget price list
What you’ll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you should be a solution-oriented professional with a strong interdisciplinary understanding of business processes and a proven track record in global, cross-cultural sourcing. You are an exceptional negotiator and communicator who can easily manage multiple projects, influence stakeholders at all levels, and adapt to new supply chain techniques. Your analytical mindset, paired with a focus on delivering tangible financial and quality results, will be the key to your success in our team.
Ideally you have
- A university degree (B.Sc. or equivalent) with a commercial or technical focus, combined with 5+ years of experience in international sourcing and supply management within a global environment
- Solid expertise in sourcing, purchasing, logistics, international transportation, and SAP. Experience with sourcing strategy implementation is a must, while relevant industry experience and knowledge of MacGregor products/supplier base will be a strong asset
- Fluency in English (both spoken and written) with excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate clearly, whether in one-on-one conversations or in front of groups
- Strong supplier negotiation skills and the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders, coupled with an interdisciplinary understanding of business processes and value drivers
- Proven experience working with global, cross-cultural teams and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while remaining fiercely focused on key deliverables
