Data Architect

We are looking for a Data Architect who will deliver business results by establishing a unified data foundation across the organisation.

As a Data Architect, you will own the end-to-end data architecture—from applying conceptual data models to our business systems to designing and delivering the architecture of our data lakehouse. 

Furthermore, you will be deeply engaged in critical projects, applying modern data stack and AI capabilities to ensure our data landscape is scalable and integrated, while providing hands-on oversight to technical teams.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Design semantic data models to ensure a clear and holistic view of our assets.
• Drive the practical implementation of the enterprise data model
• Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of scalable and flexible data lakehouse on cloud platforms (e.g. GCP, AWS).
• Utilize Agentic AI and LLMs in designing modern data solutions for practical business cases
• Define and validate architectural patterns for data flows (e.g. Batch, Streaming, CDC).
• Define and manage 'Systems of Record' for core business data objects
• Collaborate directly with various functions and stakeholders across the board

Reporting directly to the Director, Data Management & Analytics located in Bulgaria. The position will be based in MacGregor’s office in Sofia, Bulgaria.This hybrid role operates in a global context, requiring occasional travel and effective virtual collaboration across multiple business areas and regions.

What you’ll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you must be a value-centric problem solver who balances technical excellence with tangible business outcomes in a fast-paced, international environment. We are looking for a leader with a demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams and collaborate with senior leadership.

Ideally you have

• Bachelor's Degree in IT or similar
• Extensive experience in Data Engineering and architecture
• Expert-level proficiency in data modelling practices
• Comprehensive understanding of Data Lakehouse architectures, ELT/ETL pipelines, and integration patterns (Batch, Streaming/CDC, APIs)
• Hands-on experience with GCP, AWS or similar
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
