Are you an expert in internal controls with a passion for ensuring robust and effective processes? MacGregor is looking for a Manager, Internal Controls to join our team in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The purpose of this role is to support MacGregor by enhancing and implementing the company's existing Controls Framework. You will ensure controls are designed to address key risks across all areas of the business, including financial reporting, operations, and compliance.
This position reports directly to the Head of Compliance and will be based in our MacGregor office in Sofia, Bulgaria.
More tasks and responsibilities
- Enhance and maintain the framework by continuously reviewing, updating, and improving the existing Internal Controls Framework in line with leading practices like COSO.
- Systematically identify and assess the organization's risks, prioritizing them based on their potential impact and likelihood. Develop and implement risk mitigation plans.
- Conduct regular testing and self-assessments to ensure controls are operating as intended and report on their effectiveness.
- Support the business units in understanding and implementing the controls framework correctly.
- Stay informed of relevant laws, regulations and changes in the business environment to ensure the framework remains current and compliant.
What you’ll need to succeed
We are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and experience in managing complex initiatives. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear and effective communication. This role requires someone who can quickly understand business and functional processes, organizational structures, and business models. An understanding of diverse cultures and the ability to work independently are also essential.
Ideally you have
- Degree or professional qualification in business, accounting, or internal audit.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in finance, internal control, or audit, preferably within a multinational corporation.
- Proficiency in balancing effectiveness and efficiency in control design.
- Familiarity with internal audit and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations is a plus.
- Operational knowledge of SAP and productivity tools (ideally Google Suite).
- Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal abilities.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Willingness to travel as needed
