Are you eager to build a career within the marine and offshore service sector? Do you enjoy practical, hands-on maintenance, repairs, and equipment upgrades?
As a Service Technician, our entry level role, you will support inspections, maintenance, and repair tasks across both MacGregor and third-party systems, including cranes, winches, hatch covers, steering gears and RoRo equipment. Working under the guidance and direct mentorship of Senior Engineers, you will concentrate on carrying out routine preventive maintenance and get to know our equipment.
This role requires extensive European travel to client sites, shipyards, and vessels. Given our global client base, high flexibility is essential. Our office is in Trieste for local assignments, so living within reach is required.
What you’ll be doing
- Perform supervised service activities such as refurbishment, upgrades, inspections, preventative maintenance and corrective actions
- Hands-on work with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
- Working from technical drawings and manuals and using standard tools and diagnostic equipment
- Preparing service reports and other documentation
- Working closely with experienced engineers and colleagues across MacGregor’s European service network
- Ensure that all activities comply with the Integrated Management System (IMS), QHSE and other rules and requirements according to MacGregor standards
Who are we looking for?
We welcome applicants who are in the beginning of their career from a variety of technical backgrounds, including mechanical maintenance, electrical work, hydraulics, industrial equipment, shipyards, manufacturing, automotive, or heavy machinery.
Seeking motivated, hands-on individuals who are eager to learn, travel, and build a long-term career in an international company. Do you have a technical education and practical background in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems? This role is a great step stone.
Ideally, you have:
- An apprenticeship, technical diploma or degree in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or another relevant technical field
- Up to 2 years of hands-on technical experience
- Basic ability to read technical drawings and manuals
- Ability to use standard hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and basic diagnostic equipment
- A practical mindset and willingness to learn
- Proficient English skills for effective on-site communication and reporting
- Must hold a valid driving licence
- Willingness and adaptability to travel extensively throughout Europe, including multi-week and overnight trips
