Do you thrive on developing and executing strategies that expand market presence and strengthen customer relationships? Looking no further, MacGregor is looking to hire an Area Sales & Marketing Manager to join our team.
The purpose of this role is to strengthen new product development based on sales strategy, to grow the sales turnover with its own customer base for the entire Equipment & Solution Division (ESD) product portfolio. In addition, it aims to ensure that customer expectations and requirements are met as well as driving cross-selling.
Some of your key responsibilities are performing sales activities under guidance from relevant ship type sales managers. That means maintaining and developing relationships with customers such as yards, design institutes, owners and negotiating contractual terms, price and terms of payment.
More tasks and responsibilities
- Participate in preparation of sales budget
- Follow up with customer during order fulfilment phase
- Support tendering and Contract Manager on request
- Share leads with rest of the Sales organization
- Plan and perform marketing activities
- Promote products from other divisions to customers
- Perform Key Account Management duties where relevant i.e. account planning and execution of account plans utilizing full MacGregor product offering
- Participate in product training
- Contribute to marketing and intelligence activities
Reporting directly to the Area Sales & Marketing Director. The position will be based in MacGregor’s office in Yokohama, Japan.
What you’ll need to succeed
The ideal candidate for this role is customer-oriented and proactive, capable of managing projects and making decisions independently. We are looking for a person with good assessment skills and good computer skills with the ability to be sensitive to and adapt to different cultures.
Ideally you have
- Bachelor’s degree in technical engineering with a degree in mechanics, electrical or electronics engineering
- Alternatively comparable or equal degrees or equivalent due to experience
- At least 5 years of relevant business / product experience
- A solid understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, electrical, and electronic systems
- Good knowledge of quality systems such as ISO, OHSAS, etc
- Fluent in both written and spoken Japanese
- Proficient in both written and spoken English
