Do you have a knack for bringing sales strategies to life and guiding projects to a successful close? Looking no further, MacGregor is looking to hire a Sales Project Manager to join our team.


The purpose of this role is to provide technical support to the sales team and our customers. Your primary role will be to provide hands-on technical support for our products and to promote new products, such as  linkspans etc., with the sales team. Implementing product or service solutions that meet our customer’s needs will be your main responsibility.


You will expand sales of products and services through technical explanations to customers and prepare basic design plans, technical specifications and estimates that meet customer requirements.

More tasks and responsibilities

  • Respond to enquiries from customers about the technical aspects of the organization's products and services
  • Summarize the cost of each part and design, technical skill, inspection, main body, hardware, equipment at the time of estimate
  • Support key internal stakeholders in the promotion of products and solutions to appropriate end users through customer meetings, events and other channels
  • Create sales support material and documentation


Reporting directly to the Area Sales & Marketing Director. The position will be based in MacGregor’s office in Yokohama, Japan.

What you’ll need to succeed

It’s preferable that the person we are looking for has knowledge of ship classification rules. In addition to having knowledge of ship equipment design and can formulate appropriate technical solutions. Other desirable qualities are Strategic orientation and the ability to engage customers, adapting to change and collaborating to win.


Ideally you have

 

  • More than 3 years of relevant experience in engineering
  • Strong knowledge of strength of materials, mechanics, and mechanical design
  • Be able to use 2D CAD and preferably 3D CAD 
  • Preferable knowledge of hydraulic and electrical control design
  • Fluent in both written and spoken Japanese and conversational in both written and spoken English
