Are you passionate about managing the repair, maintenance, and inspection of the MacGregor product range, as well as third-party cargo access and related equipment on board vessels? MacGregor is looking to hire an ambitious and proactive candidate to join our team.
MacGregor is a leading provider of integrated cargo and load handling solutions for the maritime industry. We pride ourselves on delivering world-class support to ensure the optimal performance of our equipment and are seeking a Service Engineer who shares our commitment to exceptional service.
This position is home-based in Croatia but involves regular travels. The Service Engineer reports to Operations Superintendent and it is employed by MacGregor Croatia d.o.o.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Main objective is to carry out efficient maintenance and repairs and thus maintaining customer confidence in MacGregor
- Awareness of the profitability of the Branch
- Continuous development of the professional skills
- Carrying out planned and corrective maintenance/repairs, including onboard inspections of equipment according to “Maintenance/Repair process”
- Provide information and write reports as required
- Carry out port sales
- Job management of the subcontractors
- Make decisions about commercial matters within prescribed limits for each project, previously agreed with the Service Manager
- Execute planned and corrective maintenance and repairs, including onboard inspections of equipment, covering hydraulic, electrical, PLC, electronic, and mechanical systems
- Work on tasks that range from constructive damage repairs to software adjustments

What you’ll need to succeed
- Technical high school diploma / University degree or technical degree or equivalent
- 3+ years direct experience as a technician in marine business or similar equipment
- Background in the maritime industry, with skills in electric/PLC, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, or relevant work experience
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Knowledge of G-Suite, Microsoft Office, etc.
- Demonstrated initiative to visualise, organise, manage and complete projects in individual and group settings
- Driver’s licence
- Ability to work overtime as well as on weekends or on call duty, excessive travel required
- Ability to multitask while completing work in a competent and professional manner
- Analytical, dynamic, customer-oriented, continuous drive for personal skill development
- Fluent in English language - both verbal and written
- EU citizenship or relevant visas for EU travel, frequent travel within and beyond EU will be required
