We are looking for a Hydraulics Engineer to design, optimise, and analyse hydraulic systems across our product portfolio. In this role, you will work on engineering deliverables through the entire project lifecycle, from reviewing customer specifications during the tender phase to supporting cross-functional teams and clients with technical guidance. Your main goal will be ensuring our systems remain high-performing, safe, and fully compliant with marine and offshore standards. We are open to both experienced engineers and motivated junior candidates or recent engineering graduates ready to start their career.

More tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Design, modify, and optimise hydraulic equipment and systems for existing and new products
  • Perform hydraulic calculations and analyse systems to identify any potential issues or areas for improvements
  • Support the sales  team by reviewing customer specifications, identifying technical deviations, and building accurate tender packages
  • Ensure all designs meet engineering/discipline standards, budget constraints, project deadlines, and strict classification society rules
  • Participate in technical risk assessments, root-cause and FMEA/FMECA analyses, and troubleshooting activities
  • Collaborate with and provide technical input to Engineers, Technical Advisors, Product Owners, and Discipline Managers


 
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager Control Systems. This position can be based in Kristiansand or Arendal, Norway.

What you’ll need to succeed

 

You will do well in this role if you have a solid grasp of hydraulic principles, design routines, and relevant maritime and offshore regulations. We are looking for a collaborative team player with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who can build trust with internal partners and clients. Flexibility, open-mindedness, and clear communication are essential, as you will be managing multiple deliverables in the global organisation. 
 
Ideally you have

 

  • Degree in Engineering (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) – previous experience is a plus, but entry-level candidates with relevant educational background are welcome to apply
  • Knowledge of hydraulic engineering principles, design processes, and classification society requirements
  • Strong analytical skills for performing technical calculations and various analysis
  • Good team-working and communication skills with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Spoken and written fluency in English
